Rock and Roll of Fame is Inducts some new pop group.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1986 and located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, is dedicated to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential musicians, bands, producers, and others that have in some major way influenced the music industry, particularly in the area of rock and roll.Artists become eligible for induction in that category 25 years after the release of their first record. The performers that receive the highest number of votes and more than 50 percent of the vote are inducted.

In 2008, the number inducted was five.Slouched against the lectern at the 25th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, a shirtless Iggy Pop snarled, “I am the world’s forgotten boy.”After being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Waldorf Astoria in New York tonight, Iggy stayed true to form, ripping off his shirt and tearing into "Search and Destroy," his 62-year-old abs rippling as always.

"Let's f--k it up!" the Michigan-born, seemingly moon-bred rocker shouted as he took the stage after Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong did the induction honors.ABBA, Genesis, the Stooges, Jimmy Cliff and the Hollies were the performers that headlined the 2010 class, inducted into the hall by the likes of the Bee Gees' Barry and Robin Gibb, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong.Pop turned the mic over to fellow Stooges James Williamson and Ron's brother Scott and began unbuttoning his white dress shirt as they spoke. He then stormed off to the stage, and, aided by bassist Mike Watt and tenor sax skronker Steve Mackay, ripped through a pair of the Stooges' burners — "Search and Destroy" and "I Wanna Be Your Dog" — the latter of which saw Iggy prowl the front row of the audience,Legendary record exec David Geffen and British rock act the Hollies were inducted next, followed by Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff (who was lovingly introduced by Wyclef Jean) and then, in perhaps the night's most anticipated moment, globally revered Swedish pop quartet ABBA, who hadn't performed together in public in nearly 25 years. The Bee Gees' Barry and Robin Gibb inducted the Swedish pop group.Jackson Browne was on hand to induct megaproducer David Geffen, Wyclef Jean inducted reggae artist Jimmy Cliff and Steven Van Zandt did the honors for the Manchester-originating pop band the Hollies.

Mr. Pop, 62, was already unbuttoning his white dress shirt, getting ready to jump, drop to his knees, strut and twist across the stage and down into the black-tie audience.the hall’s latest performing members are the Swedish pop group ABBA, the reggae songwriter Jimmy Cliff and two English bands, Genesis and the Hollies. All but ABBA, which coalesced in the early 1970s, have careers dating back to the 1960s.Only half of ABBA was on hand for its award, the first for a Scandinavian band: Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson, who named Swedish folk music, German schmaltz and John Philip Sousa among the group’s influences.Mr. Pop warned: “It’s a big industry. If they make the right decisions it will stay a big industry.
